We love The Lion and Wombat! It has become our local for the very best gastro pub food in st Kilda. The service is always excellent and every meal is excellent! They have a great selection of specials which change weekly. We are so lucky to have this place in St Kilda.

The chicken stuffing roast was a stand-out for me. Definetely booked ahead of time as it’s always busy. Everything served is great quality and balanced in flavours. The ambiance is relaxed, staff are friendly and with a pint of Guinness… what a great Sunday!

Came for the Sunday beef roast and it was AWESOME! Very much worth the 40 minute drive. Horseradish was HOT and the gravy so good! Finished off with the Banoffee Pie and it didn’t last long enough for a photo. $120 for two drinks, two roasts and a dessert - so worth it! Give yourself extra time to find a car park, can be tricky in the area.

Sunday roast was superb. One of the best roasts I've had outside the UK in a long time. This is the gold standard of Sunday roasts in Australia. The guinness was up there with some of the best. Service was absolutely impeccable. Friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

A delicious Sunday Roast was enjoyed today at this charming venue. An enormous Yorkshire Pudding, many slices of pink roast beef, a nice tasting gravy served separately in a little jug, peas, carrots and yummy roast potatoes. Also I had the extra side of cheesy cauliflower which was definitely worth ordering. Arrived at venue at 12noon and was completed by meal by 12.55pm. Lots of seating for groups, couples etc - I was a solo diner at the bar. Definitely recommend - will return to try the roast chicken served with stuffing next time! Updated - two weeks later I have today had the Roast Chicken with stuffing. Again a delicious meal and the gravy is customised to the meat which is noted and appreciated! Service today at the bar where I was seated as a solo diner was exemplary.
