The food here is amazing. The fish here is a must-order. The pasta tastes very well. The wagyu beef is tender and has a good portion. The sides are also very impressive as the chips are served hot and crispy. Staff are attentive, helpful and friendly. The environment is nicely decorated, and the bathrooms are well maintained. Overall a good experience as it is close to Manly Beach and we could have a walk after the meal.

We were here for only a week and we came back twice!!!!!!!! Because it was absolutely fantastic, Angela and Rod who are the owners really know how to make you feel like you’re in your local even though it was our first time in Sydney. We went through almost the full menu (within our two visits) and we wish we could have come back to try the rest, but we will definitely be back on our next trip to Australia - thank you again for the stunning food wine and VIBE !! The chef Danny got us the TBone steak for the second time we came and we were not disappointed absolutely amazing just gras and wagyu with the fennel sauce was PHENOMENAL

An unforgettable dining experience - "Flawless from start to finish!" We had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Herring Room and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by Angela and Rodney, whose outstanding service truly elevated the entire afternoon. Their attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and beautiful energy made us feel completely at home. Now, the food.. wow!!! Every dish was a masterclass in flavour and presentation. We ordered plenty, such as the Braised & Hibachi TAS Octopus, which was tender, smoky, and perfectly balanced. The WA Rock Lobster & QLD Prawn Mafaldine was rich, indulgent, and bursting with fresh seafood goodness. The Banana Rum Baba was a delightful finish.. boozy, sweet, and just the right amount of decadent. But the absolute standout of the day was the Crispy NZ Whole Baby Red Snapper with onion, ginger, and sweet soy glaze. It was hands-down one of the best fish dishes we have ever had (and my son Damien said "this dish changed my perspective of having fish now!!"). The crispy skin, succulent flesh, and a glaze tied everything together beautifully. We were still talking about it the next day! Thanks to the kitchen team, Danny, Henokh & others! The ambience is relaxed yet refined, perfect for a special day or night out or a memorable celebration. Every element, from the service to the food to the atmosphere, was top class. We left feeling full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend The Herring Room to anyone who appreciates exceptional food and heartfelt service. A true gem in Sydney’s dining scene!

Went to The Herring Room in Manly for my partner’s birthday on Tuesday and honestly had the best experience. The service was beyond amazing — the owner personally walked us through the menu and you could just feel how passionate he is about the food. There was also a lovely lady who looked after us — she was so sweet and made us feel super welcome from the moment we arrived. One of the sweetest things was when he noticed my partner was struggling to read the menu, and brought over reading glasses. Just such a thoughtful gesture that really stuck with us. The food was so beautifully done, everything had its own unique flavour, and the whole place just had this warm, welcoming vibe. Couldn’t recommend it more — such a gem.
