Short story - it's excellent! Long story- I took the 10 minute walk from work to Smith Street craving some sushi but not having any luck on previous hunts in the area. Joined the not too long queue (not a fan of queues but being a Melbournite you adjust) and scanned the menu, additionally concerned as the options looked incredible (soba I'll be back for you!) but not my quick and easy sushi. The queue parted and there they were, fresh sushi goodness! And multiple vegetarian options - incredible! The team kept the queue moving at a quick pace and soon enough I departed with my delicious lunch, better than I had even hoped. I'll be back again soon!
The sashimi from Tamago is to die for!!! The slices are super thick, fairly priced and extremely fresh. I've grown a craving for these everyday 😍 The sushi is lovely as well.

These are no questions asked the best sushi hand rolls you can get in Fitzroy/collingwood area. Always mega fresh and even the basics they do exceptionally well with little alterations to classic rolls that make them just incredible. The spicy prawn onigiri is so good one of the best bites around. Staff is very polite and friendly.
Popped in for some takeaway hand rolls and I think I’ve found my new sushi spot in Fitzroy / Collingwood! It’s a cut above the rest. The seaweed is crisp, rice perfectly seasoned and fish super fresh. They even have some creative flavours like Thai chicken (recommended). The salmon and raw tuna hand rolls aren’t pictured as I was too hasty in eating them. Great stuff all round.
