Pilu was the perfect venue for our intimate, beachside wedding — elegant, welcoming, and truly special. From our very first enquiry, Sofia and the team made the entire planning process seamless. Every visit we felt welcome, all our questions were answered, and every request in the lead-up to the day was no issue. On the day itself, the compliments from our guests were endless, from the location and beautiful drinks to the exceptional food. Every course was outstanding, and we honestly wish we could eat it all again every day. The quality, flavour and presentation was perfect, and we are looking forward to returning for dinner very soon. The team were incredibly attentive to every guest, ensuring the day ran smoothly and effortlessly. We truly couldn’t recommend Pilu more and would relive the entire experience in a heartbeat. A special mention for the jasmine hedges in bloom during spring, adding an extra layer of magic and made the setting even more unforgettable.

Lovely food, excellent service. We had the 5 course degustation. Some of the flavours were excellent. Loved all the courses. Would not recommend the extra $10 for the riso e latte.

We went there for lunch to celebrate friend’s birthday. We ordered Sardinian 5 course set menu. The food was interesting, filling and delicious. The service was excellent and the view is amazing. You could see the freshwater beach from the windows. Perfect location and atmosphere.

Had my wedding at Pilu at Freshwater earlier this month (January 2026). Im getting emotional just thinking about how beautiful and special the day was. We wanted a smaller wedding but we still wanted it to be gorgeous and we got so much more with Pilu. Not only was the wedding venue stunning and intimate, but it seemed to sparkle! Sofia Pilu was so supportive and responsive leading up to the wedding day and ensured everything was organised to perfection! The ceremony and reception were so perfect - the staff were outstanding and the food was delicous. Pilu will forever hold a special place in my heart and will be somewhere that I frequent for years and years to come. Thank you so much to the Pilu at Freshwater staff for making my wedding day exactly what I wished for and so much more.

Overall, a superb dining experience. The restaurant wins on location for its superb view overlooking Freshwater Beach. Tables are well spaced, staff helpful and friendly. The Sardinian influenced menu is fantastic, either a la carte or set course. The wine list first class, made better by the opportunity to drink premium and aged wine by the glass. All dishes were thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend.
