$65 set menu pp without a dessert was quite sad, but luckily the food were amazing! Cocktails are delicious as well!! The fried garlic rice was not garlicky enough in our opinion. Happy happy happy, but would be more happy with a dessert lol

Visited Palay with my partner and baby girl. We ordered the Feed Me set menu which was incredible in taste and presentation! The service was absolutely exceptional from all the staff today, and the owner was so kind and sweet to our baby girl, which made it more memorable for us. Amazing food, warm hospitality, and a truly special place we highly recommend.

Great service and passion for Filipino food from the staff. Starters were great, mains were ok (details below) but the garlic 'fried' rice was a disappointment. Cocktails are nice but expensive when served in a normal tumbler (not a tall glass) so its small. It was pre-fried garlic (from a packet?) mixed with fresh white rice, but not wok fried together or at least toasted a bit, heated up?? - see pic. The rice itself didn't have any garlic flavour. Likely mixed last minute. Sisig was nice and meaty, not too fatty but the crackling on top was from a packet, very chewy and not crispy. I wish there was some real fresh crispy pork chopped small in it. Tuna starter was lovely. I'll come back to try other dishes when I feel they are ready :) I made a point to tell the lady at payment about the 'fried' rice, she said she would let the chef know, no offer of anything else. I hope so, this is such a basic but important base to all the dishes and it is advertised as 'fried' rice.

The atmosphere was very chill and the vibes were great, the server was welcoming and friendly whilst also showing what was available to order! I really enjoyed what we ordered, both the Ube Martini and the Spicy Margarita were delicious. The Crispy Pata, Garlic Rice and the Pyanggang were amazing, although one of the servings of the garlic rice was a bit on the saltier side, everything was a fantastic experience! I would highly recommend visiting Palay for some delicious food and greta vibes!

Nice, cozy, chic new restaurant sitting in the heart of Fitzroy! I love the Filipino vibes of this place. The sisig tastes really good, this is one of my favorite dishes because it is not composed of purely meat, it has a mix of pig's ears I believe that tastes really authentic. Also, combine it with garlic rice, yummy! I like the calamansi ice tea as well, very refreshing, feels like home. It is good to have a waiter that can speak the Filipino language as well, proud of that. The kinilaw fish with coconut tastes so good and the fish was so fresh. They made the taho to a new version which is like a pudding, something new and it is good to try as well. The only thing is that the chicken skewer I think needs to have a stronger flavor, maybe needs to be marinated longer, I can't really taste the flavor in the chicken. The ribeye beef tapa skewer, I think that the flavor suits well for pork. In my opinion, the meat in the skewer is overcooked, it is not tender and juicy as to what I am expecting.
