Came especially for the Tuesday Gozen Set and itโs absolutely delicious! Also tried the dumplings and edamameโboth were amazing, the edamame was quite tasty. Will definitely come back for more!
A small family run Japanese restaurant in Surry Hills that is worth the visit. They offer lunch sets. The tendon tempura bowl set comes with sashimi. The tempura was well fried and the sashimi was fresh. A must try. The karaage set was similarly good. Also ordered burdock chips on the side which paired well with the sauce. The staff were very friendly. A good option for lunch in Surry Hills, and I suspect for dinner as well.
Finally got to try Choose De Night, which is only available on Tuesdays! We ordered: 1๏ธโฃ Wagyu Oyster Blade upgraded to Unagi. You can never go wrong with Australian wagyuโitโs flawless every time. The eel may be a small portion, but itโs grilled perfectly๏ผ 2๏ธโฃ Teriyaki Salmon upgraded to Chirashi. The teriyaki sauce is so goodโsweet but not overpowering. The set also comes with sashimi, tempura, baby spinach, chawanmushi, and miso soup.
Such a lovely little Japanese spot in Surry Hills. Everything feels thoughtfully done!! The sashimi was super fresh and the wagyu was really good quality. Great place for a relaxed date night or a few drinks and small plates with friends. Would happily come back.
My partner and I visited My Zakaya on Saturday night. We had only recently returned from Japan, so we were both very excited for some great Japanese food and Sake and we were not disappointed. We ordered the charred Edamame, sashimi, grilled oysters, pan fried dumplings, tempura squid, hand rolls and miso salmon. All the food was amazing and took us back to Japan. The only thing I would say is that the squid was a little tough, especially when trying to eat with chopsticks. Service was great and very attentive, they also recommended some great Sake to go with the dishes were ordered. We would certainly recommend this place and we can't wait to go back.
