Very well kept secret in Surry hills. Tikka masala not to miss, and an amazing selection of natural wine. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Was fully booked when we were seated, the ten did their best to get everyone a place that didn’t have a reservation! Highly recommend

Patrick and Nelson are an amazing team. Wine and food are top notch. The scallops were insane. Plus, they give great recommendations for other places to try. Give their spot some love. You won’t regret it.

We had an amazing evening in Lokal - i had been eyeing it up for a long time and it totally lived up to my expectations. The menu is really well balanced and has a great mix of flavours that go beyond the typical stuff you always see. It’s simple ingredients done really really well - and of course the wine was super. I love seeing some Portuguese wines on a menu!

If I could rate 10 out of 5 stars I would! I usually have a rule on holiday that I don’t go to the same place twice, but Lokal was the exception. Friendly staff and the amazing food was prepared right in front of me. Highly recommended for any visit to Surry Hills

Was just walking around with some mates and stumbled upon this gem, but do book ahead as people were turned away due to how busy it was. The duo team (+ the best employee - dishwasher) there were fantastic and I had one of the best bite of scallop I’ve ever had, an absolute flavour bomb in the mouth. Please leave it on the menu!!!
