Our family of 7 chose Kaiza Newtown to celebrate a birthday dinner, and we were extremely satisfied with the experience. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was delicious and well balanced, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy โ€” perfect for a family gathering and special occasion. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely return and highly recommend Kaiza. My favourite dish: Scallop and Fried Rice. Super Slay.

I chose this place to celebrate a Christmas dinner with my friend. Iโ€™ve seen it many times on Instagram but never had the chance to try it โ€” until now, and Iโ€™m so glad I finally made it. With a lovely recommendation from the staff member Quang, we ordered the mixed sashimi, crispy eggplant, NZ salmon, crispy fried rice, and spanner crab udon. Every dish was genuinely good, but a few really stood out for me. First, the crispy eggplant โ€” Iโ€™d highly recommend this as a snack. It somehow reminded me of deep-fried banana, which I absolutely love from Vietnam. The miso sauce paired perfectly with the eggplant and tied everything together beautifully. Next was the crispy fried rice. I never would have thought teriyaki chicken could be such a perfect match with crispy fried rice, but it worked so well. It brought back childhood memories of classic fried rice being my all-time favourite, with the pickles adding a great balance and extra depth of flavour. Lastly, the spanner crab udon โ€” so delicious. As a big udon fan, this was a real highlight for me. Iโ€™d recommend enjoying it as soon as it arrives at the table. Itโ€™s one of those dishes that feels truly unique and hard to find elsewhere. Overall, it was a great experience with very good food. Iโ€™d definitely love to come back again to try more dishes.

I visited Kaiza over the weekend for their bottomless lunch and it was incredible! The staff were super lovely and explained each dish as we went, as well as suggested some good drinks to go alongside the dishes (start with the yuzu spritz! Itโ€™s super refreshing). As for the entrees, the edamame was super flavourful and the sashimi with the fried Japanese bread with 11/10!! OMG you need to try this!!! Everything about it was perfect. For the mains, we got a soba noodle and fried eggplant which worked so well together! The noodles were dressed nicely with a sesame dressing while the eggplant was perfectly crispy and sweet. I think i was already full by this point, but then came out the crispy chicken skin fried rice and karage chicken which was also just as good! Lots of flavour and the rice was also crispy too! I would definitely recommend this place for their bottomless or just their normal menu!! So worth it and unlike any other fusion restaurant!

I've had my fair share of unpleasant fine dining experiences and despite that Kaiza surpassed my expectations of what a great eating experience is supposed to be. From the warm atmosphere accompanied by an array of tasteful asian tapestry befitting of a Vietnamese/Japanese fusion restaurant, to the plethora of lighting including the warm overhanging ceiling lights and the intimate table to table multi-option lamps. That being said, a great scenery is nothing without a proficient and wonderful team and the variety of food items they can provide. All staff members seemed eager to cater to table needs and educate us on the theories behind the food palate and the mixed ideas behind each dish. Which only boosted the overall experience for us. My personal favourite dish was the entree of fried lotus and personal house sauce making for a deliciously consumable snack just light enough to build anticipation for the main dishes yet to come. That being said, the scallops were what I believed to be the highlight of the night. Tastefully tangy and lightly salted flavouring that complimented the natural sweetness of the shellfish and the tender texture that stems from a phenomenal understanding in cooking. My compliments goes out to the chef and the team for a great night and I'd reccomend anyone to Kaiza who is looking for an exciting night at this premier asian fusion restaraunt in the wonderful place that is Newtown.
