The relatively new restaurant in Sydney Tower did not disappoint. Went up the elevator and got out to be warmly greeted by Katie who seated us at a nice table with an excellent view of the city. Sandro was the consummate professional, explained all the dishes in great detail with a smile. The service from Sandro was excellent, that alone is worth a return visit. Food was expectedly very good. The snacks included oysters, a special that looked like an oyster that had complex flavours, and potato fritters. The sourdough was great as well. The calamari entree is worth the order. The Murray cod was delicate and perfectly seasoned. Desserts were decadent particularly the sweet wine custard. Excellent food and service with a view.
We went there for my wife's birthday. Got a warm welcome by staff. The new menu is good but has limited options. Steak was great and the staff were friendly. We found bugs in the salad, lots and lots of them (I initially thought it was part of the dressing!), my wife couldn't finish her food and we left disappointed. This can happen when you don't wash vegetables, but the disappointment was the chef came to our table and didn't even apologise, instead he said it shows that it was organic so we should be happy about it! Caviar was tasty but with that price point we expected a better quality source not an average Chinese one! They didn't even put any efforts to make us happy - except that they didn't charge the buggy salad that we didn't eat! I used to take many clients to this place and always had a good experience. I hope they improve and fix their attitude.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience tonight at Mark Best Restaurant. The service was impeccable a special thank you to Alex for his professionalism and attention to detail. Every cut of meat was perfectly cooked, and the desserts were the perfect way to finish the meal. We will definitely be back. ๐ซฐ๐ฝโค๏ธ
Iโve never written a negative review for a restaurant before, but I felt compelled to after this experienceโespecially given the price point and the occasion. We booked this restaurant for our 2-year anniversary and genuinely wanted to love it. With the glowing reviews, we came in with high expectations. Drinks I started with an Amaretto Sour, which arrived tasting like it was missing the sour component entirely. It was sent back and returned improved - but have had better. Not a huge issue on its own, but not a promising start either. Entrรฉe โ Potato & Duck Liver Fritter The duck liver mousse was delicious, but the fritter itself was soggy on the underside instead of crisp all over, which was disappointing because the flavours had potential. Main โ Steamed Murray Cod, Fish Milk, Sorrel & Fermented Potatoes This dish was confusing from presentation (see first photo) to flavour. The fish was completely covered by two large, semi-wilted sorrel leaves, making it unclear what we were looking at when it arrived. The cod was fresh but very bland, the sorrel leaves were overwhelmingly sour and raw. The fermented potatoes tasted like stale sour potatoes. The flavours didnโt complement each other at all. Perhaps our palettes are just not refined enough for such a flavour profile? Sides โ Hand Cut Chips, Salt & Vinegar Iโm a huge chip lover, but these were genuinely inedible. The vinegar was so overpowering. For the first time ever, I left a bowl of chips almost untouched. Thatโs with my partner being a salt and vinegar guy as well. We truly wanted to enjoy this restaurant, especially for such a special occasion. Unfortunately, there wasnโt a single dish weโd feel comfortable recommending to friends or family. However the service was fantastic. The view was beautiful. I donโt criticise lightly, and itโs not in my nature to write negative reviews, but spending $650 on a meal that left us so disappointed felt worth mentioning. We understand that part of the cost is the view and the service but we did expect more from such a highly regarded restaurant.
Amazing dining experience Infinity is on the 81st floor of the Sydney tower and the table has a spinning platform that does a lap every 77 minutes. Our 5:30 pm table had perfect position to see the sunset The grilled sea foam oysters were a stand out. They had a deliciously creamy texture with some sour taste as well. I had never seen anything like it and I loved it. Entree was amazing - blue fin tuna on top of faux gras, tasted fresh with some crunch The roast lamb main was mouth watering - chunky fat layer on top which melted nicely in the mouth The chocolate ganache - rich dark chocolate flavour, was beautiful The staff were all very friendly and very welcoming. Unlike a lot of other fine dining places where only one person sees you throughout the night, there were multiple people looking after our table and we got to know all of them a little bit throughout the night. We spent plenty of time talking to the sommelier and he helped us make some good decisions with our wine choices. Incredible meal and an even better experience! Would highly recommend
