A must-visit if youโre ever in Manly. Garfish has been around for some time now, and itโs clearly doing something right โ it has truly stood the test of time, and itโs no wonder why. The food selection is amazing, the staff are super friendly and professional (something thatโs pretty rare these days), and the drinks menu is excellent, all topped off with a beautiful view. Garfish wonโt disappoint.
Garfish Manly was excellent. We shared the Fruits de Mer platter and loved the variety โ fresh oysters, salt & pepper squid, sashimi, king prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, trout and more. Everything was beautifully done. The coconut parfait dessert was a standout, and the cocktails were expertly mixed with great flavour. Friendly, attentive staff made the experience even better, especially during the busy holiday season.
I came to Manly to find prawns for lunch and selected Garfish. Whilst they didnt give me a table in the main restaurant, i still enjoyed good service, food and wine in the small bar area. 250g prawn meal was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Give it a try.
While a natural oyster is almost always the best, what they do here with the fried oyster with wakame salad and ponzu sauce as well as the Bloody Mary shot is a breath of fresh air. The Queensland king prawns + Moreton Bay bugs were delicious and steak was cooked perfectly. Great food, great venue, great service.
I stopped in at Garfish Manly for lunch with a craving for classic battered fish and chips. With a high star rating and a stack of reviews, it looked like a sure thing. I was expecting more of a takeaway-style fish and chip shop, but it turns out this is more of a bar and restaurantโwhich ended up being a great surprise for a Tuesday lunch on the way back to the office. They do offer takeaway, but with such a prime location right across from Manly Wharf, I couldnโt resist taking a casual seat in the front area. Thereโs a converted deck with windows, now a relaxed dining space, and enjoying a cold beer on an overcast winterโs day made it a great spot to unwind. What I Ordered: โข Battered Fish and Chips โ Served with a fresh green salad and light vinaigrette. The chips were outstandingโfresh, light, and perfectly cooked. The fish, however, missed the mark. For $30 and such strong reviews, I expected more. It seemed like frozen, processed fillets, not the quality I was hoping for. Service & Atmosphere: The staff were super friendly, service was quick, and the location is unbeatable. All up, itโs a great place for a casual lunch, whether youโre flying solo or catching up with friends. Iโd definitely come backโthough next time I might try something else on the menu.
