Have been a couple of times recently for lunch and both were excellent experiences. Fabulous service from Paul and relaxed ambience. Outstanding seafood. The Moreton Bay bugs were sweet and perfectly cooked, and the mulloway was thick, delicate and spot-on. Creamy mash with wilted spinach was the perfect accompaniment.
We visited Garfish with friends. As wheelchair users, accessibility was important to us, and while the venue itself wasnโt fully accessible, the staff ensured we were comfortably seated outside. It was quite windy, but that didnโt take away from the overall experience. The food was absolutely beautiful, and our waiter, Varun, was outstanding. He is one of the friendliest and most accommodating waitstaff members Iโve ever encountered. His positive energy and warm smile truly elevated our visit and made it an awesome experience overall. We appreciate you Varun, keep smiling and spreading your posivity wherever you go, the world needs your light โจ๏ธ.
The fish was alright, but the salads were a bit too salty for my taste. The Moreton Bay bugs were pretty tasteless, which was disappointing. On the plus side, the staff were nice and friendly, and the service was good.
Recently enjoy lunch here with my colleagues for our end of year gathering. Service was really great as was the food. Atmosphere inside might be preferable. We had outdoor seating which wasn't the best as your conversation is often drowned out by street noise, and there was a lot of dust blown onto the table (including pre set plates and cutlery) which is less than desirable, however that wouldn't stop me going again. I would just recommend indoor seating.
Quite Possibly the Best Seafood & Gluten-Free Dining Experience in Sydney โ Or Anywhere! Garfish was by far one ofโif not theโbest restaurants Iโve ever experienced for both seafood and gluten free options. It truly rivals some of the top seafood meals Iโve had internationally. We nearly ordered the entire menu because everything was just too good to pass up. The scampi was my personal highlight โ incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. From entrรฉe through to takeaway coffees, every single dish was an absolute treat. Even though I thought I couldnโt fit dessert, I had to try the gluten free sticky date pudding โ I hadnโt had one in years, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of the meal. We booked online about 15 minutes before arriving, and were seated immediately โ Iโd still recommend booking ahead, especially on weekends. The atmosphere was warm, modern, and welcoming. Getting there is easy: Take the Metro to Crows Nest Station and exit via Clarke Street โ itโs just a short walk. Parking can be busy, but thereโs plenty of it between council car parks and street metered options nearby. For two people (without alcohol), the total came to $285, and we still had food to take away โ which speaks volumes for the quality and generosity of the dishes. This wasnโt just dinner โ it was an experience. Weโll absolutely be back.
