We had such a delicious meal here. We got the sourdough, pig fritti, comte tarts, whiting sandwich, rigatoni, steak, potatoes and raspberry dessert. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed every dish. Just keep in mind that while they do have indoor seating, the majority of tables are outside and can get a little cramped. While we had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy our meal, it probably isn't somewhere I'd go if the weather wasn't great. Prepare also to wait if you don't have a reservation - while walk-ins are taken, we went at 4.30pm on a Saturday and still had to wait for a table

My friends and I planned to hangout there and made a booking the night before, but I accidentally booked the wrong number of guests. I emailed the restaurant team for help, and they were incredibly accommodating and quickly adjusted our booking. The service from the Bar Copains team was truly impressive. The food was delicious, perfectly paired with wine. All the staff were very friendly, especially Isaac, who did an amazing job recommending both food and wine for us. Everyone served us with genuine smiles throughout the night, even though the restaurant was busy. Highly impressed and would definitely come back!

Bar Copains is adorable and the food is elite. It's the perfect place for share plates and catching up with friends. Every dish was sensational, highly recommend the anchony puff pastry, the chicken liver parfait, the King George Whiting sandwich - fried and crispy fish on fluffy white bread perfections - and you'd be crazy not to shove the potato scallops in your mouth - they were so good!! Thick slices of potato in a tempura-like battter. The setting is cosy and outdoor seating for a casual drop in is also available. 10/10 would try all the same dishes again and discover some new one. Adding Bar Copains to the rotation!

Thanks guys, I had a great time last night. Staff were entertaining and lovely. The food was flavour driven and with a good variety of both texture and size - everything is quite savoury, which is good for a wine bar. Wines on the other hand were limited in choice and all served in tasting glasses - which is practical for the venue but doesnโ€™t do any favours to the wine youโ€™ll drink. The Amaro Creme Caramel - I canโ€™t see them taking that off the menu. Just perfect. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ Worth a visit for the atmosphere alone - an exercise in carefully controlled chaos.

Amazing little wine bar in egalitarian Surry Hills. Thereโ€™s a real buzz going on here, excellent staff with wine knowledge way above their pay grade. Take their advice, please. Even the layout is uber cool; cozy inside, footpath, bar or alfresco as seamless as the bar is to the kitchen. And the food, certainly not the bridesmaid, no sir, its married and consummatedโ€ฆ but again, ask the staff to match a wine unless you like to pretend. Loved the 80โ€™s 90โ€™s covers as well. Awesome ๐Ÿ™
